Channel Your Inner Tomboy

After a long day of writing (unfortunately not blogging), it’s time for some relaxation time that I’m gladly spending with all of you!

Here’s the scoop – for those who didn’t know me as a little girl, I was far from your typical girl running around in tuutu’s and bows.  My favorite outfit was my Paul Frank hockey t-shirt and Addidas sweats.  From a far, you couldn’t see my pony tail – and while engrossed around a circle boys on the Kipling Elementary School playground, my teeth were gritting ready to play.

Now…fast forward to middle school, what I call my “transition to fashion”.

I’m not sure if it was the smelly old Campbell’s soup machine or blowing up Subway cookies in the microwave of Alan B. Shepard Middle School that shifted my attitude towards fashion (shout out to Shepard kids who actually understand my sarcasm), but it was desperately needed.  But don’t be fooled, my style took many years to evolve to what it is today (note the Forever 21 grey “bag” dress, that my mom Sharyl referred to a the “disposable dress” that I selected for an 8th grade dance)

Anyways, my point is…although I was a tomboy, and I’m not going to deny that it isn’t still part of me.  Sports are part of my life and will continue to be.  An avid Chicago sports fan (especially the Blackhawks) and Michigan athletics supporter, it’s important for me to look good while attending these events.  But don’t think I’ll show up in that Paul Frank t-shirt and sweatpants…
